Hey guys, we need ideas for the puzzle for the Grass, Ice and Water gym, something that wouldn't be too hard to map/sprite and something that isn't like the Pokemon games (Like sliding around ice)
Post your ideas here.

I mean, I know this might be basic/something you already considered, but cutting/headbutting various trees (trainers hiding in them) in grass gym to get to the leader (or just a kind of complicated maze with trees), Surfing/using waterfall in a waterpark-themed gym to navigate slides, etc, and lastly using strength to move around ice boulders in a snowy environment out-door gym.
Maybe having one of these gyms as full-scale double battles might make them more different? Just thinking of ideas off the top, sorry if they're bad haha. Your guys game is freaking awesome!

The Grass gym you could have the door going into the gym leader room with a big flower with petals around it and the player had to beat the trainers that are in flower and ever time you beat a trainer the petal comes off the gym leader door

Grass Gym: The Gym is split into three rooms, the first two are simple hedge mazes leading to the last room where Bailey waits on a large flower. Ice Gym: A ski slope hill... thing. Where the puzzle consists of going down the slopes or up the rocks. Water Gym: A water park based Gym where you have to pick a slide to go down, with forced trainer battles at the end of some slides. Every time, one more slide is added.
Also, I believe you could improve on the Fire Gym's puzzle, as it is very slow when the camera moves, I think an easier Sootopolis Gym style puzzle with magma would be much cooler!

Grass: Have 3 rooms. The first two rooms are a tree maze and the player has to find a specific tree to go on to the next room. Some trees have trainers hiding in them. The gym leader is then waiting for you in the last room sitting on a tree branch.
Ice: A little inspiration from the Orange Islands gym. The player has to race the gym leaders down a series of ski slopes and if you beat the gym leader you get to battle but if you lose you have to battle a trainer. If you lose 4 times then the gym leader will give you a battle either way.
Water: The gym is in a cave instead of a building. It has multiple pools of water throughout the place and the player has to use divein the pools. Some of them have gym trainers and the 1 other holds the gym leaders. The gym leader can be sitting inside a giant clam.

I have the grass gym puzzle done, it's now going to be a treehut and you must climb through rooms until you get to the gm leader, of course there will be parts that reach dead ends.
Fire gym - Still don't have a good idea for this, it's a wee bit hard, all I can think of is lava.
Ice Gym - At the moment we just have the typical sliding puzzle, we may just use that but improve on it.
Water Gym - I'm going to keep with the tropical theme that Waytide has but not sure what we will do with it, it may involve sand islands, not sure.

May be there could be a little boat that could take you to the different islands around the gym and the islands can be in a spiral or a circle

For an ice type gym, not sure how easy it would be to do, but you could make a puzzle requiring the player to step on switches that freeze water in a straight line from said switch, until it hits the next trainer's area

I don't know if you guys still need suggestions, but I'll provide one I came up with for an Ice type themed puzzle. No ice, just snow, specifically, a blizzard. All of the snow makes it hard to see your surroundings, but the snow machines end up making various hills from snow that piled up that you can climb and get a quick look at your surroundings to see if there are any trainers. The gym leader also wouldn't be in the back like a typical gym leader; they would be hiding somewhere in the middle of the blizzard, and you should use the hills to help search for them.

Maybe, with regards to the fire-type gym, you could incorporate a waterworks on one level of the gym and the puzzle is to use the water to cool down the lava to make paths on the bottom half of the gym.
