Basic Fakemon battle analysis (First 30 up) (2,923 views)

So I went through some of the first fakemon and checked their stats, abilities, typings and movepools and wrote down my impressions of them. These are the first 15, I might post more. I'm only covering the fully evolved forms. If I've missed anything, please let me know.


Mountree: Normal - seems like a decent tank. Has two good regen moves: Leech seed and ingrain.



               Mega - Seems like an amazing tank with sky-high defences and attack and an ability that makes use of two of it’s most powerful moves, head smash and wood hammer. Otherwise see normal form.





Flearoe: Normal - Looks like a decent special attacker with flamethrower and earth power as go-to moves, plus Eruption.



            Mega - Seems to be a great special attacker with an amazing ability (Drought), special attack through the roof and very good speed, and a great movepool, as mentioned earlier.





Salaslam: Normal - Looks like a decent physical attacker. Decent attack and speed, and decent movepool.



               Mega - Looks like a great physical attack with amazing attack and decent speed. Use Poison jab and waterfall to make use of its ability, Sheer force.





Snuffuzz: Looks like a bad starting rodent, until you see its hidden ability and your mouth opens wide. With fur coat its defence becomes the best in the game. Although offset by bad special defence, its HP is decent. Reminds me off diggersby. You can use Amnesia to up its special defence. I’d use a moveset of Amnesia, rest, snore and body slam/some other move.





Budsoar: This, however, looks quite bad. It’s you basic starter bird, with a few very situational abilities and bad stats. Its attack is decent, which is not complimented by it’s movepool, which consists mainly of special moves, or it’s low speed. It does get fake out however, and chatter has a 100% confuse chance.





Weashock: Good speed, otherwise little redeeming features. Very average special attack leaves this pokemon with no real use past the first few gyms. Bad movepool with mostly physical moves leaves Weashock with basically thunder as the most powerful special move, but only by TM. Even so that’s not going to do much unless it’s super effective. If you’re looking for a good electric type, keep looking.





Stickut: This thing is bad. It’s highest stat is defence, which is useless because of a horrible typing and the fact that it’s till not high enough to be good. It’s most powerful move is megahorn, which won’t do much thanks to it’s low attack. Don’t bother with special attacks, that stat is unusable. It’s be gone anyway due to low speed. It does get a decent hidden ability though.





Aeroma: This bird is decent. Good speed and access to aromatherapy make this a decent cleric for your team. Decent attack and special attack leave it not defenceless either. Trust me, this is not that good a pokemon, but it’s better than the last few. Also has access to perish song.





Lavenrina: Two words: Quiver dance. Get a few of those up, and this pokemon becomes a monster. It’s backed up by some great moves such as Moonblast, Petal Blizzard and petal dance. It also gets Aromatherapy, making it able to fulfill a cleric role as well. One bad thing about it is that its defences are very low. Alternatively you can use sunny day, Growth and Solar beam to sweep, boosted by its ability chlorophyll. This is a great pokemon that becomes even more powerful in the sun.





Lunape: This pokemon has bad stats, but is completely saved by its ability, simple. Set a calm mind up and your Special stats have doubled. Then you start destroying worlds with psychic and moonblast. Other than that it isn’t that good. Watch out for its mediocre speed and low defence.





Dartoad: Aaand we’re back to the bad stuff. Decent special attack, Defence and HP doesn’t help you when most of the moves in your movepool are physical and your Bulk is still bad. Can work quite well as a defensive pokemon under rain thanks to its ability,, but it’s extremely slow.Through tutoring you can also teach it synthesis which can be useful if you aren’t in the rain.





Doveheart: Like luvdisc, it’s sad when a pokemon that represents love is so weak. Only decent stat is speed, which it can’t do much with. It gets some decent moves, but no attack or defence to use them well with. I know that love is not meant for battle, but it shouldn’t be this bad right?





Widox: Looks really good, but not a great battler. It has decent speed and attack, and a decent movepool too. It gets access to moves like Poison jab, X-scissor and sticky web. Through tutoring it also gets some truly great moves, such as sucker punch and Gunk shot. The big problem is that its attack isn’t great, and its speed is mediocre at best. It also has big trouble taking a hit.





Glowing: Tail glow. Set one up and you have a beastly special attack. Sadly it’s base stats are very mediocre, so even with a tail glow up it’ll probably go down before it can get a good hit on its opponent. Has a good moveset including bug buzz, Thunderbolt, dazzling gleam and the aforementioned Tail glow. Mediocre speed is probably the worst about it, it’s actually a decent pokemon.



Crystox: A sky high defence stat is what makes this pokemon good. It also has decent HP, making it a good defensive tank. Fair warning: It is 4x weak to earthquake, so that’ll still probably one-shot it. It has a good movepool, notably stealth rocks, which due to its defense it’ll probably get to put down, Stone edge, which is a powerful rock-type move whatever way you look at it, and poison jab.

I finally bothered to make the next 15, yay! Again, any feedback is welcome, along with suggestions and anything I missed. On another note, I got a job offer from Tao which I didn't see for two weeks since I don't check my notifications.



Casspring: Good speed along with okay attack makes this a good U-turner. Get it in, use U-turn or Protect if it’s a hidden ability one and then U-turn. You’ll get some free damage and then switch in your pokémon with an advantage towards the opponent. Of course all the other stats are really bad, so you won’t be doing much else with this. Really bad typing leaves it extremely vulnerable to just about anything. It gets swords dance, but you won’t live long enough to set it up. Overall a decent Hit-and-Run pokémon, but not much other use.


Cirribus: This thing is good. Amazing special attack combined with two great abilities really helps. I’d recommend Drizzle to take advantage of Hurricane and Thunder. It also gets weather ball to take use of the water boost from the rain. You can also use Snow warning, but it doesn’t have as many moves to take advantage of that and still takes damage from it. It also has good special defence and decent HP, letting it filling a more tanky role if you need it. Mediocre speed leaves something to be desired, but this is still everything Castform wishes it could be.


Pixlily: Good special attack, decent speed and access to quiver dance leads this pokémon to be a decent quiver dancer. Set a quiver dance or two up and start taking the opponents down. It’s movepool supports this, with a movepool including Bug buzz, Moonblast, Psychic and Energy ball. It’s moveset also allows for a decent support pokémon, with moves like Sleep powder, Knock off, Tailwind, Aromatic mist, Thunder wave, Heal bell and more. It’s good at both of those roles, although defence leaves a lot to be desired.


Swelegant: Decently high special defence can lead this pokemon to be a decent tank, with moves like Roost and Aqua ring for recovery, Defog for hazard clearing and Tailwind for support to allies. Sadly offensive stats are very low. Highest stat is attack, but it can also use calm mind to boost Special attack. It gets access to some good moves, like Waterfall, Ripple wave and drill peck, but this is not an offensive pokémon. Keep it bulky, don’t try to sweep teams with it.


Angelight: Apart from great speed this pokémon doesn’t have much going for it. It can be quite good with calm mind, with a movepool including Ripple wave, Surf, Hydro pump, Ice beam and Psychic, but that’s still a really shallow movepool for a deep-sea pokémon. It can also do double screens though.


Rubbunny: This thing is tanky. With great defensive typing and hp combined with good defences, this thing is going to take a few hits to take down. An extremely good defensive ability in Unaware, making set up useless. If you want to use a Belly drum set you’ll have to use another ability though. Probably Oblivious. It can easily abuse a Belly drum set, even with low attack. It gets Return, Jump kick, Superpower, Last resort, Knock off, Seed bomb, Earthquake, oh my goodness why does it learn all of these moves. Yeah, the Belly drum set is good. It learns moves of almost every type, so it has amazing coverage. For more bulky versions there’s Toxic, Reflect, Encore, Protect, Refresh, Rest, Thunder wave, Substitute, Heal bell, Pain split and magic coat. Yeah, this thing is incredibly versatile and is not fainting in a hurry.


Smaqua: Great attack, but bad all other stats. Really bad speed and mediocre bulk means that It’s going to go down quite quickly. It does get some decent moves though. Aqua jet, while weak, allows it to deal damage to the opponent quickly, and with Aquads attack stat that usually does quite some damage anyway. Aqua tail and Waterfall work as good Water moves, while Cross chop and Brick break works for fighting. Then you have Earthquake, Knock off, thunderpunch, Zen headbutt and more for coverage. All in all a good pokémon held back by bad speed and bulk.


Monstrap: Horrible speed makes this pokémon useless as a revenge killer as insinuated by its Hidden ability, Arena trap. Bad defensive typing and mediocre defences leave this pokémon quite frail. It does have quite powerful offences though. Powerful moves like Power whip, Crunch, Dark pulse, Earthquake, Energy ball and sludge bomb makes this a Decent mixed attacker, and its ability Intimidate allows it to increase its chances to get a move off exponentially. Still, horrible speed keeps this pokémon back.


Lophug: This is a bad pokémon. It gets some decent moves, but so bad offenses that they’ll hardly scratch anything not weak to it. It’s bulk is mediocre, but that’s its best stats. It seems to me that its greatest potential lies in light bulk and support. It can learn light screen, Rest, toxic and a few other basic Bulky moves. Along with that it learns Charm, baby-doll eye, Heal bell, Magic coat, Thunder wave, Trick room and Knock off to support its allies, but there are much better pokémon for this role. Another pokémon of love that is really weak.


Werehide: Seems decently powerful. Good speed and attack Along with some good abilities and a varied movepool makes this a good physical attacker. Hustle makes its attack rally powerful, and the accuracy drop can be countered with Hone claws. If you want it to last longer give it Bloodlust and Crunch. Otherwise Knock off is a good move, you can have Sucker punch for priority and Earthquake, Wild charge, Aqua tail and superpower are good options for coverage. Overall, a good physical attacker.


Taraterror: Really good attack is backed up by a good movepool including X-scissor, Earthquake, Crunch, Sucker punch, Knock off, Gunk shot and Poison jab. However, average speed along with lackluster defenses leads it to be very frail and likely to go down quickly. It also has access to a few support moves like Sticky web, Block, Destiny bond, Taunt and Pain split. It is a good pokémon against those it outspeeds though.


Geckone: Another pokémon ruined by absolutely horrible stats. It’s really good ability protean is ruined by bad offensive stats of which only Special attack is usable,, although it has decent speed. It has an amazing movepool, including Sucker punch, Thunderbolt, Psychic, Shadow ball, Vacuum wave, Signal beam, Energy ball, Focus blast, Sludge wave, Dark matter and Flash cannon. Sadly, horrible bulk makes it go down to any physical attack, even though it may be not very effective.


Natoron: This is an extremely effective physical tank, with great Defense and hp and good attack. A good ability in rock head really helps with its really powerful move Head smash, along with Double edge and Volt tackle. It also gets some really good other moves, such as Earthquake, Outrage, Zen headbutt, Iron head and Superpower. If you want offensive you can use Rock polish to boost its speed. It also gets some more stally moves such as Toxic, Quicksand, Block, Rest, Snore, Roar, Snarl and Iron defense. It’s a really good tank.


Rushot: Insanely quick and with a decent attack to back it up, this Pokémon is quite good. Access to Volt tackle makes this an excellent suicider, and swords dance makes this thing insane if you manage to set it up. U-turn or Volt switch can be used in dire situations, Endeavor can level the playing field, Extremespeed is useful in the rare occasions when you’re up against something even quicker. Low bulk however makes a speedy strategy enforced however, and bad special attack means it mostly has to rely off physical moves, of which there are few electric ones.


Legenix: Woo my god that’s a lot of hp. This pokémon has good bulk, although it’s hp is somewhat diminished in usefulness thanks to bad defenses. It has okay Special attack though, and good speed leaves this as a potential bulky attacker. It gets some good moves too, Such as Eruption, Aura Sphere, Dazzling gleam, Solar beam, Psychic, Shadow ball, Air slash, Energy ball and more. If you want a more bulky set You’ll want it’s hidden ability, Sunbathe, along with sunny day and recover. It also gets calm mind to boost its special stats. A bit bad typing leaves it somewhat exposed, but this is still a great pokémon.




That's the first 30 fully evolved pokémon done, I'll probably post the next 15 in the next month, but that is no guarantee.

oh yes of course if you want a good Electric Type is has to be Humzap! its typing is really good, its Attack is quite high and pretty much nothing can out speed this thing no matter what, with its Speed being more than even Arceus, and its move pool is HUGE, X-Scissor, Drill Pick, Steel Wing, Volt Tackle by LEVEL UP, Fly, Agility, its basicly PREFECT for your team, put up 3 Agilities and your opponents are done for, its defences may be bad, but its Attack and Speed makes up for it, trust me, my Humzap i called Speedy is godlike, he can outspeed anything and he helped me get the Grass type gym leaders badge, ALONE

Times have changed

Snuffuz-Stats are pretty midiocre with good HP and respectable defense but obviously you want fur coat to give you the highest base defense stat in the entire game. Hamstar gets Hyper Fang very early which is helpful and the line has quite a large movepool with standouts like Wild Charge, Seed Bomb and Iron Head. But without fur coat it is pretty mediocre

Budsoar-One of the first special attacking regional birds that actually has a wide movepool. The main dissapointment comes from its stats which sre just mediocre with only really Sp.A and Sp.D that are respectable with the rest just being average. Another disapointment is that while its movepool is wide the most powerful special flying type move it gets is chatter which while has a 100% chance of confusion it is only 65 power. Wonder skin can be fun though and gives it a little extra Just average in general.

Weashock-First of all, you want static to annoy your opponent as much as possible. Second, this thing is decent. Respectable attacking stats with good speed and nasty plot allows this thing to be a decent special sweeper and when you are in a tight situation, you can U-Turn out and do decent damage

Stickut-So this things type is really bad like really bad. And that doesn't go well when it is trying to be defensive. It still has its highest stat in attack which is good but if you don't outspeed with your average base 75 speed stat your not going to survive a special attack and maybe a physical attack but it actually has a dedcent movepool with a good ability in defiant. So give it a go if you waant something interesting

Aeroma-Welcome Ladies and Gentleman to a Rikoto staple, the speedy tank. This one's highest stats are HP and Speed which is interesting. This pokemon serves as a support role for your team, being generally tanky and using support moves like Aromatherapy and Tailwind to keep your team going. It can use moves like Amnesia and Roost to keep itself alive and use Giga Drain for damage and health. The main problem is that Aeroma's attacking stats are very low so it is not going to be doing much damage even with giga drain and Squall Blow. It is generally just an ok pokemon

Lavenrina-Quiver Dance. Just Quiver Dance. Be careful of its low physical defense and confusion from Petal Dance. It is a little lacking in coverage and a 4x weakness to poison isn't helpful but still a fun pokemon

Lunape-Has pretty average stats that are very much improved by its ability. Use Calm Mind, use Amnesia, use Acupresure, use Double Team if you want to be annoying. With an average movepool this pokemon is definetly a fun time. And Lunape only learns Moonlight and Moonblast by level up so have a look at Moonky's moveset and decide when you want to evolve it

Dartoad-I'm gonna be nice to this thing. Get this thing in rain and it is a monster. It basically negates its fire weakness with all fire moves being halved in power and all the water type moves it gets getting powered up it is destructive. It can also have Rain Dish which means it gets 1/8 of its HP back every turn. It does have a decent movepool that lacks in coverage and it gets a lot of good physical moves that it just cannot use. Its stats are definently on the lower side but if you can get it in the right conditions it is good

Doveheart-This is a support pokemon through and through that is specifically designed to be used in double battles with abilities like Friend Guard and Healer. It has plenty of support moves to use that has an average Sp.A stat for moves like Mystic Wave and Squall Blow. Unfortunately, its stats do fall short late game

Widox-This a very out classed pokemon. Having used one myself, I can say that late in the game it does fall behind the rest of the team and while its HP, Attack and Speed are all good they are just outclassed by pokemon who have higher stats all around. It has a decent movepool and an alright typing but it is just out classed by so much more

Glowing-This one is quirky. First, pick up a glowig that has Volt Absorb to save the pain of Illuminate. This also helpful because Volt Absorb will turn into Tinted Lens when Gloccon evolves into Glowing. Second, Bug/Electric is an excellent and unique type what allows for a good battle style. Glowing is also not lacking in moves with good type coverage and of course the excellent Tail Glow. The only problem is that its stats are only decent at defending so if it doesn't outspeed it only might survive

Crystox-Really good physical wall with a good amount of weaknesses but also a slew of resistances. Good setup moves like stealth rock and toxic spikes as well as rock polish for sweeping potential. Movepool is a bit shallow but can easily get past it
