Names - Meanings and Changes. (1,174 views)

So this thread is where we can talk about the Pokemon's names and where their name comes from also, suggestions on name changes, some of the names aren't so creative since I made majority of them yeeeeeeeears ago and their old names have stuck around so there's a few I'm thinking of changing.


Flareoe - it was suppose to be a play on the words Flare and Pharaoh but it doesn't have an egyption theme anymore, since Purrlit and Purryo all have 'Purr' in their names, maybe we could change it to something like Purrferno, Purrflare, Purrlaze, Purrheat etc?

Pruddy - it's suppose to be a Fairy Fox and it's name atm doesn't mean anything lol, so maybe Phoxi? (Fox + Pixi combined?) and Purrdixy can be something like Phoxlash (Fox + Flash combined)

Post which names you think could use a change, I'm not saying they will be changed but this is the suggestion thread.

I don't think we should change any name at this state of the game.
The players have their names in mind, me too, especially the ones who are in the game already.
I could only see name changes for Fakemon which aren't catchable at the moment.

only fans of the game that have been around for a while know who Flearoe and Pruddy are, since there is a lot of new people playing the game, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to change a couple names, Phoxi and Phoxlash suit them better than Pruddy and Purrdixy, and Purrferno sounds a lot better that Flearoe, it's not a Pharaoh :/

I don't think anyone will have a problem with the name changes, if anything I feel they will like these better.

I may change a couple names of fakemon not in the game yet as well, most of them seem a bit too basic, I don't put any thought into names when creating fakemon so I need to start doing it.
