Grass Contest: Flower Power (Part 1)
It’s another bright and glorious day in Serpintine City, as busy traffic fill the roads and people rushing by.
The group along with Trissy are heading towards the contest hall, to compete in the contest.
“I can’t wait to enter in my first contest!” Ella says with excitement, “Me too!” Trissy also says,
The boys walk behind the girls looking at Ash’s new badge, “It’s so cool Ash!” Cole says as Ash stares at it,
“It’s the first one in the Rikoto region, now I only need 7 more” he says, Brock who is reading a book says
“It looks like the next gym is in Crestlight City”,
“Then that’s where we’ll go after Ella’s contest” Ash says.
The girls are excited as they see the contest hall before them with people outside with their pokemon, training them.
As they walk by all the trainers they see a young trainer kneeling down with a familiar looking Pokemon.
“That Pokemon looks like Lavenseed” Ash says and pulls out his Pokedex,
“Lavenbell, the Scent Pokemon, Lavenbell is the evolved form of Lavenseed, Lavenbell can make flowers bloom just by touching them”
“So that’s a Lavenbell” Ella says, the boy stands up and says yes, he introduces himself as Josh and introduces Lavenbell, and the group introduce themselves.
Ella pulls out a pokeball from her bag and releases the Pokemon inside, it’s Lavenseed,
“Look Lavenseed, this is what you would evolve into one day” she says to it crouching down on the ground looking at Lavenseed, Lavenseed looks at Lavenbell and smiles and the Lavenbell smiles back,
“So Josh are you entering the contest?” Ash asks, “Yes I am, this is my and Lavenbell’s first contest” he says, “It’s mine too!” Ella says in excitement.
Meanwhile Team Rocket also arrive with Jesse disguised as Jesselina, wearing a new outfit too, Jesse stands before James, Meowth and Wobbuffet and holds out her hand to James, “Your Solshrub” she says, James hands her the pokeball, “Look after it” he says and Jesse smirks at him, “I’m gonna win this contest” she says as the walk towards the contest hall.
The group and Josh are inside the contest hall at the counter, “I would like to enter in the contest please” Ella says to woman standing behind the counter, “Me too!” Josh says, “Me too!” Trissy says the woman smiles and enters in their names and their Pokemon, “Thank you, all of you are now entered into the Grass type contest” she says, Ella, Trissy and Josh smile and thank her, “I’m gonna go get ready!” Ella says “me too” Trissy says, “I’ll see you in the contest Josh”
“You betcha” he says back.
Ash, Cole and Brock sit in the stands ready to watch the contest, while Pikachu and Pruddy cheer on,
“Are we ready to begin!” the woman on the stage says, as the crowd cheer, “Welcome to the Serpintine City type contest, this contest is for the grass types, so lets get started!”
“First up it’s Trissy!”
Trissy walks out on stage in her contest outfit, wearing a yellow dress with green flowers all over it, “on stage!” she calls out as she throws the pokeball, the pokeball opens and a big flash of light comes out and out comes Cheepip,
“Cheepip Razor leaf!” Trissy calls out and Cheepip flies into the air and releases a wave of spinning leafs into the air, “Now use Gust!” Trissy calls out again, Cheepip then flaps its wings and sends gusts of wind at the leafs spinning them even faster into the air and they start spinning around in circles like a twister,
“Wow!” Ash says, “That’s amazing!” Cole also says, Ella and Jesselina watch in a room backstage,
“Wow that was really good, this is gonna be hard” Ella says to herself.
“That was an excellent appeal by Trissy and her Cheepip” the woman with the mic says, “Now next up is Josh!” she says pointing out to the middle of the stage where Josh stands holding a pokeball in his hand, “Come on out!” he says throwing the Pokeball up into the air, the pokeball opens and with a flash of light, Lavenbell comes out, “Lavenbell, use twirl!” Josh calls out and Lavenseed twirls around and round in a circle, “Use sweet scent!” he says, as Lavenbell twirls around it releases a wave of sweet scent from it’s leafs on it’s head, the whole audience is captivated with Lavenbell, ‘”that smells so nice” a woman says, “that’s so beautiful” a man says too,
“What a wonderful appeal by Josh and his Lavenbell”, the audience claps and cheers on for Josh and his Lavenseed.
A few moment’s later trainers with their pokemon compete and now it’s Jesselina’s turn,
“Jesse’s up now” James says as Meowth and Wobbuffet sit and watch,
“Solshrub take the stage!” she says throwing the pokeball out onto the stage, Solshrub comes up with a big smile on it’s face, “Solshrub, Energy ball!” Jesselina calls out, Solshrub powers up an energy ball and shoots it into the air, “Now Solshrub Vine whip!” she calls out again, Solshrub fire’s it’s arms up and hits the energy ball and causes it to explode in a fireworks like explosion, the audience is captivated and amazed, “My Solshrub…” James says with a little tear in his eye as Meowth sigh at James and Wobbuffet just stares at Jesse and Solshrub with jealousy.
“That was an incredible appeal by Jesselina and Solshrub!” the woman with the mic says, “Yes, remarkable” says one of the judges, “now the last contestant is up, it’s Ella!” the woman says,
Ella nervously walks onto the stage “Go Ella!” Cole shouts out and Pruddy and Pikachu cheer,
Ella looks up as the stage lights shine her in the eyes, she pulls out a pokeball and enlarges it, “Lets do this!” she says throwing the pokeball out onto the stage, with a burst of light out comes Lavenseed,
“Lavenseed use bullet seed on the ground!” Ella calls out, Lavenseed shoots at the ground with its bullet seed and lifts it into the air, spinning it around, “Use razor leaf!” Ella calls out again, Lavenseed’s leafs on its head start glowing and it starts sending out glowing leafs from its head, spinning them around and round towards the crowd, the crowd are amazed and captivated by Lavenseed and Ella’s appeal, “Wow that was simply amazing!” the woman with the mic says, the crowd start cheering and Ash, Brock and Cole start clapping with joy,
“Now that the appeals are over we will go to the judges to see who will go onto the next round” the woman with the mic says.
A few moments later the contestants are waiting backstage awaiting to see who will go onto the 2nd round, the woman with the mic stands before the crowd and announces the 2nd round contestants, “Right the contestants going onto the next round will be these 4 people” Ella awaits nervously to see if she has made it,
“The first contestant going through to the next round is…Josh and Lavenbell!” the woman says, Josh smiles “Yes I made it to the next round!” he says,
“The 2nd contestant through is…Trissy and Cheepip!” Ella looks at Trissy and smiles “congrats Trissy!” she says, “Thanks Ella, I’m sure you’ll make it too” she says,
“The 3rd contestant going through to the next round is…Jesselina and Solshrub!” James and Meowth are glad to see Jesse make it through and James starts crying with joy for his Solshrub, Jesse smirks and Solshrub starts dancing around,
“Now the last contestant to make it though is…” the woman says, Ella is shaking with nerves and Lavenseed stands by her feet, “Ella and Lavenseed!” the woman says,
Ella opens her eyes when she hears her name, “Ella you made it though!” Trissy says, “Good one Ella!” Josh says, “Thanks guys!’ Ella says with joy, she bends down to look at Lavenseed, “we made it through to the next round Lavenseed” she says and Lavenseed smiles.
Moments later Ella, Trissy, Josh and Jesselina stand before the crowd,
“Who will battle who in the next round?” the woman with the mic says, “Lets have a look!” and points to a screen above the stage, Ella, Trissy, Josh and Jesselina’s faces scramble on the screen, Ella awaits to see who she will battle in the next round and clutches her fist by her side, the screen scrambles until it stops, and the screen goes black,
2 faces come up on screen; it’s Ella verse Jesselina, and Trissy verse Josh!
Ella looks at Jesselina and Jesselina smirks at her,
“Jesse is gonna fight the girl twerp!” Meowth says,
“And she has no chance against my Solshrub” James says,
Trissy looks at Josh and smiles, “So I guess we will be fighting each other” she says, “Lets make it a good battle” Josh says back,
“Now lets get to the 2nd round!” the woman with the mic says.
The second round starts with Trissy verses Josh.
Trissy stands on the other side of the battle stage ready with a pokeball in her hand, while Josh stands on the other side holding a pokeball too.
“Cheepip take the stage!” Trissy says throwing the pokeball, with a burst of light Cheepip comes out of the Pokeball,
“Lavenbell go!” Josh says also throwing the pokeball out, releasing Lavenbell.
“Cheepip Wing attack!” Trissy says jumping straight into the battle, Cheepip flies into the air and swoops down to attack Lavenbell, “Lavenbell Protect!” Josh says and Lavenbell raises its hands and a wall of energy protecting it from Cheepip, Cheepip hits the wall and is sent falling to the ground, knocking a little health points off, “Lavenbell now use Razor leaf!” Josh says, Lavenbell swings it’s 2 leafs on its head and releases a wave of violet leafs towards Cheepip,
Cheepip goes to fly from the ground but is hit by the razor leaf, Cheepip falls back to the ground,
More health points go down for Cheepip, but Cheepip is not out of the battle, “Cheepip you have a type advantage!” Trissy says and Cheepip looks back at her and nods, Cheepip turns around to face Lavenbell,
“Lavenbell another Razor leaf!” Josh calls out and Lavenbell does so, sending another wave of spinning leafs towards Cheepip, “Now Cheepip gust!” Trissy calls out and Cheepip flaps its wings releasing a powerful gust attack, sending the razor leafs all over the place, “Now Cheepip Wing attack!” Trissy says and Cheepip flies up and swoops down at Lavenbell directly hitting it, sending it flying and crashing to the ground, knocking off a lot of health points, with 15 seconds left on the clock, Trissy tells Cheepip to use another Wing Attack, Cheepip does so and flies back at Lavenbell with it’s glowing wings and strikes Lavenbell again, Lavenbell falls to the ground, knocking even more health points off, the clock stops and the battle is over, everybody looks at the screen above the battle stage and Trissy and Cheepip’s face appear with ‘Winner’ beside it, Trissy and Cheepip win the battle!
The crowd cheers and Ella claps backstage, Josh returns Lavenbell back into its pokeball and say “good job Lavenbell, you did your best”, Trissy and Cheepip jump for joy for their victory.
Now it’s Ella and Jesselina’s turn.
Ella stands opposite Jesselina on the battle stage ready to battle, “I’m ready to do this” Ella says clutching a pokeball in her hand, Jesselina smirks and doesn’t say a word,
“Lets start the battle!” the woman with the mic says and the battle gets under way.
“Lavenseed I choose you!” Ella says throwing the pokeball releasing Lavenseed out of it,
“Solshrub go!” Jesselina says throwing the pokeball and Solshrub comes on stage,
“Solshrub use Wrap!” Jesselina says and Solshrub does do wrapping its arms around Lavenseed, trapping it,
“Lavenseed!” Ella cries out, “Lavenseed try and get out with Bullet Seed!” she calls out and Lavenseed powers up and shoots out glowing bullets at Solshrub’s arms causing it to release Lavenseed,
“Lavenseed use Razor leaf!” Ella calls out and Lavenseed uses Razor leaf at Solshrub hitting it, it’s health points fall a little, “This is going to be hard…” Ella says.

The battle continues with Ella and Jesselina, “Solshrub Energy ball!’ Jesselina calls out, Solshrub powers up a Energy ball and throws it at Lavenseed, hitting it directly, knocking off a lot of health points, “Lavenseed get up!” Ella calls out to Lavenseed, struggling to get up, Jesselina smiles, “Solshrub Vine whip!” Jesselina says, Solshrub nods and jumps in the air lashing out it’s arms into a vine whip, hitting Lavenseed, Lavenseed is sent flying across the battle field and falls to the ground, Lavenseed is knocked out, Jesselina wins the battle.
“What…” Ella says, “we…we lost?” Ella says stunned, the screen above the stage shows Jesselina and Solshrub as the winners, James, Meowth and Wobbuffet are in the stand crying with joy for Jesse’s win.
The woman with the mic congratulates Jesselina and Solshrub for their victory, and announces that Jesselina will battle Trissy in the final round for the Serpintine City Flower Ribbon.
A few moments late Ella sits back stage with Lavenseed at her side, both are sad for their loss, Ash, Cole and Brock arrive and Pikachu jumps off Ash’s shoulder and onto Ella’s to show it’s support for her, “That was a good battle Ella, you did awesome” Cole says, “Yeah, but it wasn’t good enough” she says with a sigh,
“You did you’re best, you’ll get it next time” Brock says, Ella looks at the boys with a tear in her eye, “Yeah I will” she says, as Lavenseed smiles at her and Ella smiles back.
Back on the contest stage, Jesse and Trissy are ready for the final battle, the woman with the mic stands in the middle of the stage “This is it, the final battle for the Serpintine City, Flower Ribbon, the battle is between Jesselina and Trissy, lets get it starter!” she says raising her hand into the air,
Jesselina and Trissy are ready and stand opposing one another,
“Solshrub take the stage!” Jesselina says throwing the pokeball, Solshrub comes out and stands its ground,
Trissy enlarges her pokeball and throws it, and out comes Cheepip,
The clock starts ticking from 5 minutes.
“Go Cheepip Wing Attack!” Trissy says, Cheepip flies into the air and swoops down at Solshrub, “Dodge it Solshrub and use Energy Ball!” Jesselina says, Solshrub dodges the wing attack shoots off a energy ball at Cheepip hitting it directly,
Cheepip falls to the ground, knocking off a little health points
“Cheepip try another Wing Attack!” Cheepip flies up again,
Solshrub dodge it again and use Vine Whip!” Jesselina says, “Not this time!” Trissy shouts, “Cheepip Double team and wing attack!” she says, Cheepip swoops down and creates multiple versions of it’s self and they all fly down at Solshrub, Solshrub doesn’t know which one is the real one, or where to dodge, Cheepip gets closer and it’s double team disappears and Cheepip hits Solshrub with it’s wing attack, knocking off lots of health points,
Jesselina gets nervous and angry,
“Solshrub get up now!” she shouts at Solshrub, Solshrub gets up and starts glowing, but it’s not evolving… its using Recover!
“Solshrub just learnt Recover!” James says with joy,
“Good Solshrub now attack with Energy Ball!” Jesse shouts out, Solshrub powers up an energy ball,
“Cheepip another Wing attack!” Trissy says,
Cheepip swoops down with its glowing wings ready to strike Solshrub,
Solshrub still powers up an Energy ball attack, and Jesselina waits, Cheepip gets closer and closer, until it’s right in front of Solshrub, “Now Solshrub fire that energy ball!” Jesse shouts,
Solshrub throws the energy ball right at Cheepip hitting it directly, there’s a big explosion as the Wing attack and Energy ball collide, the timer runs out, but no one knows who has won until the smoke clears away from the screen above the stage, everybody waits to see who has won, Jesse and Solshrub wait staring at the smoke, As Trissy holds Cheepip waiting too,
The smoke clears and everybody looks to the screen to see who won…as they look the health points look identical… so no one knows who has won, the woman with the mic runs onto the stage, “It looks like it’s a close one, lets go to the judges to see has the most health points!” she says, they all look over to the judges as they whisper to each other looking at a private screen, they push buttons and point at the screen as everyone waits nervously…they push a button to tally up the health points left…the judges nod to the woman with the mic and she nods back, “The winner of the Serpintine City, Flower Ribbon is…” she points up to the screen, and everybody stares at the screen…a drop of sweat drips off of Jesse’s head…the screen pops up WINNER with…Jesse and Solshrub’s faces next to a ribbon! Jesselina/Jesse is the winner!
James and Meowth jump up for joy to see Jesse win a contest! Ash, Cole, Brock and Ella clap, as well as Trissy.
The woman with the mic walks over to Jesselina/Jesse and hands her the Flower ribbon, Jesselina/Jesse holds in up in the air and everyone claps.
After the contest, the sun is setting on the horizon and the group stand outside with Trissy.
“That was awesome Trissy, you made it to the final round” Ella says,
“Yeah but I didn’t win…” she says, Ella smiles and laughs, “But you made it further than me Haha”
“I’m gonna go to Crestlight City, that’s where the next contest is” Trissy says, “But first I might do some training here in Serpintine City”
The group smile at her and Ash says “We’ll see you in Crestlight city then”
“And I’ll see you at the contest, and next time we’ll both be in the finals” Ella says,
Trissy smiles “Okay it’s a deal” she says, Trissy walks away and the group wave goodbye to her and start walking out of Serpintine City onto Crestlight city.

“Cheepip Wing attack!” Trissy says jumping straight into the battle, Cheepip flies into the air and swoops down to attack Lavenbell, “Lavenbell Protect!” Josh says and Lavenbell raises its hands and a wall of energy protecting it from Cheepip, Cheepip hits the wall and is sent falling to the ground, knocking a little health points off, “Lavenbell now use Razor leaf!” Josh says, Lavenbell swings it’s 2 leafs on its head and releases a wave of violet leafs towards Cheepip,
Cheepip goes to fly from the ground but is hit by the razor leaf, Cheepip falls back to the ground,
More health points go down for Cheepip, but Cheepip is not out of the battle, “Cheepip you have a type advantage!” Trissy says and Cheepip looks back at her and nods, Cheepip turns around to face Lavenbell,
“Lavenbell another Razor leaf!” Josh calls out and Lavenbell does so, sending another wave of spinning leafs towards Cheepip, “Now Cheepip gust!” Trissy calls out and Cheepip flaps its wings releasing a powerful gust attack, sending the razor leafs all over the place, “Now Cheepip Wing attack!” Trissy says and Cheepip flies up and swoops down at Lavenbell directly hitting it, sending it flying and crashing to the ground, knocking off a lot of health points, with 15 seconds left on the clock, Trissy tells Cheepip to use another Wing Attack, Cheepip does so and flies back at Lavenbell with it’s glowing wings and strikes Lavenbell again, Lavenbell falls to the ground, knocking even more health points off, the clock stops and the battle is over, everybody looks at the screen above the battle stage and Trissy and Cheepip’s face appear with ‘Winner’ beside it, Trissy and Cheepip win the battle!
The crowd cheers and Ella claps backstage, Josh returns Lavenbell back into its pokeball and say “good job Lavenbell, you did your best”, Trissy and Cheepip jump for joy for their victory.
Now it’s Ella and Jesselina’s turn.
Ella stands opposite Jesselina on the battle stage ready to battle, “I’m ready to do this” Ella says clutching a pokeball in her hand, Jesselina smirks and doesn’t say a word,
“Lets start the battle!” the woman with the mic says and the battle gets under way.
“Lavenseed I choose you!” Ella says throwing the pokeball releasing Lavenseed out of it,
“Solshrub go!” Jesselina says throwing the pokeball and Solshrub comes on stage,
“Solshrub use Wrap!” Jesselina says and Solshrub does do wrapping its arms around Lavenseed, trapping it,
“Lavenseed!” Ella cries out, “Lavenseed try and get out with Bullet Seed!” she calls out and Lavenseed powers up and shoots out glowing bullets at Solshrub’s arms causing it to release Lavenseed,
“Lavenseed use Razor leaf!” Ella calls out and Lavenseed uses Razor leaf at Solshrub hitting it, it’s health points fall a little, “This is going to be hard…” Ella says.

The battle continues with Ella and Jesselina, “Solshrub Energy ball!’ Jesselina calls out, Solshrub powers up a Energy ball and throws it at Lavenseed, hitting it directly, knocking off a lot of health points, “Lavenseed get up!” Ella calls out to Lavenseed, struggling to get up, Jesselina smiles, “Solshrub Vine whip!” Jesselina says, Solshrub nods and jumps in the air lashing out it’s arms into a vine whip, hitting Lavenseed, Lavenseed is sent flying across the battle field and falls to the ground, Lavenseed is knocked out, Jesselina wins the battle.
“What…” Ella says, “we…we lost?” Ella says stunned, the screen above the stage shows Jesselina and Solshrub as the winners, James, Meowth and Wobbuffet are in the stand crying with joy for Jesse’s win.
The woman with the mic congratulates Jesselina and Solshrub for their victory, and announces that Jesselina will battle Trissy in the final round for the Serpintine City Flower Ribbon.
A few moments late Ella sits back stage with Lavenseed at her side, both are sad for their loss, Ash, Cole and Brock arrive and Pikachu jumps off Ash’s shoulder and onto Ella’s to show it’s support for her, “That was a good battle Ella, you did awesome” Cole says, “Yeah, but it wasn’t good enough” she says with a sigh,
“You did you’re best, you’ll get it next time” Brock says, Ella looks at the boys with a tear in her eye, “Yeah I will” she says, as Lavenseed smiles at her and Ella smiles back.
Back on the contest stage, Jesse and Trissy are ready for the final battle, the woman with the mic stands in the middle of the stage “This is it, the final battle for the Serpintine City, Flower Ribbon, the battle is between Jesselina and Trissy, lets get it starter!” she says raising her hand into the air,
Jesselina and Trissy are ready and stand opposing one another,
“Solshrub take the stage!” Jesselina says throwing the pokeball, Solshrub comes out and stands its ground,
Trissy enlarges her pokeball and throws it, and out comes Cheepip,
The clock starts ticking from 5 minutes.
“Go Cheepip Wing Attack!” Trissy says, Cheepip flies into the air and swoops down at Solshrub, “Dodge it Solshrub and use Energy Ball!” Jesselina says, Solshrub dodges the wing attack shoots off a energy ball at Cheepip hitting it directly,
Cheepip falls to the ground, knocking off a little health points
“Cheepip try another Wing Attack!” Cheepip flies up again,
Solshrub dodge it again and use Vine Whip!” Jesselina says, “Not this time!” Trissy shouts, “Cheepip Double team and wing attack!” she says, Cheepip swoops down and creates multiple versions of it’s self and they all fly down at Solshrub, Solshrub doesn’t know which one is the real one, or where to dodge, Cheepip gets closer and it’s double team disappears and Cheepip hits Solshrub with it’s wing attack, knocking off lots of health points,
Jesselina gets nervous and angry,
“Solshrub get up now!” she shouts at Solshrub, Solshrub gets up and starts glowing, but it’s not evolving… its using Recover!
“Solshrub just learnt Recover!” James says with joy,
“Good Solshrub now attack with Energy Ball!” Jesse shouts out, Solshrub powers up an energy ball,
“Cheepip another Wing attack!” Trissy says,
Cheepip swoops down with its glowing wings ready to strike Solshrub,
Solshrub still powers up an Energy ball attack, and Jesselina waits, Cheepip gets closer and closer, until it’s right in front of Solshrub, “Now Solshrub fire that energy ball!” Jesse shouts,
Solshrub throws the energy ball right at Cheepip hitting it directly, there’s a big explosion as the Wing attack and Energy ball collide, the timer runs out, but no one knows who has won until the smoke clears away from the screen above the stage, everybody waits to see who has won, Jesse and Solshrub wait staring at the smoke, As Trissy holds Cheepip waiting too,
The smoke clears and everybody looks to the screen to see who won…as they look the health points look identical… so no one knows who has won, the woman with the mic runs onto the stage, “It looks like it’s a close one, lets go to the judges to see has the most health points!” she says, they all look over to the judges as they whisper to each other looking at a private screen, they push buttons and point at the screen as everyone waits nervously…they push a button to tally up the health points left…the judges nod to the woman with the mic and she nods back, “The winner of the Serpintine City, Flower Ribbon is…” she points up to the screen, and everybody stares at the screen…a drop of sweat drips off of Jesse’s head…the screen pops up WINNER with…Jesse and Solshrub’s faces next to a ribbon! Jesselina/Jesse is the winner!
James and Meowth jump up for joy to see Jesse win a contest! Ash, Cole, Brock and Ella clap, as well as Trissy.
The woman with the mic walks over to Jesselina/Jesse and hands her the Flower ribbon, Jesselina/Jesse holds in up in the air and everyone claps.
After the contest, the sun is setting on the horizon and the group stand outside with Trissy.
“That was awesome Trissy, you made it to the final round” Ella says,
“Yeah but I didn’t win…” she says, Ella smiles and laughs, “But you made it further than me Haha”
“I’m gonna go to Crestlight City, that’s where the next contest is” Trissy says, “But first I might do some training here in Serpintine City”
The group smile at her and Ash says “We’ll see you in Crestlight city then”
“And I’ll see you at the contest, and next time we’ll both be in the finals” Ella says,
Trissy smiles “Okay it’s a deal” she says, Trissy walks away and the group wave goodbye to her and start walking out of Serpintine City onto Crestlight city.
I loved it! I wish I could've heard about other new trainers besides Josh using older or even newer pkmn to do grass-type "appeals", but in any case, it was really good! I loved meeting Josh & Lavenbell, and I don't know who I want to win more: Ella or Jesse!! Your development of Ella is great! Overall, I thought you did a really great job!
