Episode 17: Going Sky High!
It’s a bright and sunny day as the group finally make it into Crestlight City.
“Yay we’re finally in Crestlight City!” Ash says, “Yes! Lets go straight to the gym!” Cole says,
Brock and Ella watch the two boys run up ahead, “Guys wait a minute!” Ella shouts out, and the two boys stop in their tracks, “What!” Cole shouts out,
Ella looks at him, “How about we go to the Pokemon center before we go to the gym?” she says, “Besides, you might wanna do some training first”,
Ash and Cole look at each other, “She’s right” Ash says, “I guess I got too excited” Cole says back, “Okay we’ll go to the Pokemon center for a while, and then we’ll go to the gym” Ash says and they head off to find the Pokemon center.
Meanwhile Team Rocket are walking along the streets of Crestlight City, and Jesse notices a board on the side of a building, is has a poster on it saying ‘Pokemon Contest!’
“A contest here!” she says ripping the poster off the wall, and reads it out loud,
“Enter in the Crestlight City type contest now, this contest is for Psychic Type Pokemon, come and try to win the beautiful Mystic Ribbon!” she says, “I’m entering that contest!” she says, as James, Meowth and Wobbuffet look at her, “It’s a Psychic type contest Jess” Meowth says,
“Yeah and the only Psychic type you have is Wobbuffet” James says, Jesse looks at Wobbuffet, and it salutes her, “Oh…but James you have Chimecho!” she says,
“Oh no, no, no, you’re not using my Chimecho, not after last time you used it” James says as they have a flashback to when Jesse last used Chimecho in a contest.
“James! Let me use Chimecho!” she shouts at him, “No!” James shouts back, Jesse gets all mad and crazy, “give me your Chimecho to use in the contest!” she shouts even louder, “It’s not like you use it for anything else!”
James gets scared, “Okay, okay, just calm down” James says handing her Chimecho’s Pokeball, “Just don’t treat it like you did last time” he says, “Chimecho will be fine, cause we’re gonna win this contest as well” she says.
Back with the group, they are sitting outside in the sun relaxing before the big events that are going to happen in the next few days, Ella lays in the sun with Pruddy and Lavenseed, “Ah this is so relaxing, lying here in the sun” she says, Brock brushes Moonky’s fur and Sudowoodo also soaks up the suns rays, “Ash, how about a practice battle?” Cole asks,
“A practice battle, okay then” Ash says.
Ella Pruddy and Lavenseed lay on the ground ready to watch Ash and Cole battle, and Brock referees, “Okay Ash and Cole, this will be a double battle, each trainer will use only 2 pokemon each” he says,
“I’m ready,” Cole says, “Me too” Ash says,
Cole pulls out 2 pokeballs and throws them out, “Purrlit, Wooper I choose you!” he says, the 2 pokeballs fly out onto the battlefield and burst open and out come Purrlit and Wooper,
“My turn”, says Ash as he throws out 2 pokeballs, “Herovor, Paracaw go!” Herovor and Paracaw emerge out of their pokeballs, “lets go!” Ash and Cole both say,
“Purrlit Ember attack on Herovor and Wooper use Water gun on Paracaw” Cole calls out, Purrlit powers up and releases a wave of Embers at Herovor, and Wooper fills it’s mouth with water and shoots it out at Paracaw, “dodge it!” Ash yells out, Herovor jumps into the air and sends off a wave of razor leafs at Purrlit’s Ember attack and stops it, Paracaw flies up into the air and Wooper’s Water gun misses, “That was great!” Ash says, “Now it’s my turn”,
“Herovor, Take Down, Paracaw Wing Attack!” Ash shouts out,
Herovor charges up to Purrlit and hits it directly, sending it falling to the ground, “Purrlit no!” Cole screams out, Paracaw flies around in the air and swoops down at Wooper, “Dodge it Wooper!” Cole shouts, Wooper sees Paracaw coming in for the attack, and quickly jumps out of the way as Paracaw misses, it swoops back up into the air,
“Paracaw try it again, Wing Attack!” Ash shouts, “Wooper use Mud Shot!” Cole says, Wooper watches Paracaw fly around in the air and as Paracaw swoops in to attack Wooper with Wing attack, it fires up a blast of mud balls at Paracaw hitting it, “Paracaw!” Ash shouts out, as Paracaw falls to the ground, “Herovor Razor leaf now!” Ash shouts out, but Paracaw gets up off the ground, “Pa…Paracaw” Ash says, Paracaw stands its ground, “Paracaw…” Ash mumbles to himself, Paracaw lets out a loud squawk and starts glowing, “What’s happening to Paracaw!” Ella says, “It’s evolving,” says Brock,
Watching from the side of a building stands a purple-headed boy, watching Ash and Cole battle.
“Paracaw!” Ash shouts as the glowing Paracaw grows slightly and evolves, the glowing stops and standing before everyone is…Mawclaw!
Ash pulls out his Pokedex,
“Mawclaw, the Parrot Pokemon, Mawclaw uses its sharp claws to break branches of trees to use as it’s nest” the Pokedex reads,
“Wow Paracaw evolved into Mawclaw” Ash says with Joy, Mawclaw lets out a loud squawk, as everyone smiles at the new Mawclaw, “Ash the battle isn’t over yet” Cole says, “Wooper Water gun!” Cole says, Wooper lets out a blast of water at Mawclaw, “Let’s see what you can do” Ash says, “Mawclaw Gust!” Ash shouts, Mawclaw lifts it’s wings and flaps them once with strength, letting out a big gust of wind at the Water gun blocking it, “Now Mawclaw Aerial Ace!” Ash says, Mawclaw flies into the air with speed and swoops down at Wooper striking it, knocking it out of the battle, “Wooper!” Cole shouts, Mawclaw flies back to the ground next to Herovor and Ash, “Wooper return!” Cole says holding out the Pokeball, “You did great Wooper, have a good rest” Cole says to the Pokeball,
“Wow Mawclaw, your super fast at flying” Cole says to Mawclaw, Ella and Brock walk over to them, “That’s the first time I’ve seen a pokemon evolve” Cole says with a smile on his face,
“And I’m so glad I got to see it in one of my battles” he says, Ash looks at Mawclaw and smiles, “Mawclaw your so much stronger now than you were when you were a Paracaw” Ash says, just then Ash is interrupted, “So now you have a Mawclaw” the voice says, the group look over to the where the voice came from, Ash and Brock are shocked “PAUL!” they both say, Ella and Cole look at Paul with confusion, “Do you know this guy?” Ella asks,
“Yeah we do” Ash says, “What are you doing here?”
“I heard you were coming to the Rikoto region, so I decided to come too, to face you in the Rikoto league and this time beat you” Paul says,
“So I want to battle you” he says, “What…battle you…now?” Ash says, “But I just had a battle, so my Pokemon aren’t 100%” he says,
“Fine, go heal your pokemon and I’ll be waiting out here,” Paul says,
“Fine!” Ash says back, Ash returns Mawclaw and Herovor back into their Pokeballs
Paul walks off, “No rush” Paul says.
Inside the Pokemon center, the group are sitting down waiting for Ash’s pokemon to be healed up, “So how do you know Paul” Ella asks,
“We met him in the Sinnoh region” Ash says, “And he became my rival, he competes in gym battles like me, we faced each other in the Sinnoh league and I bet him”
“That’s not all” Brock says, “He’s a very strong trainer, and he doesn’t care for his pokemon, he thinks of them as objects for battle, and not his friends, if he thinks one of his pokemon are weak, he’ll release them back into the wild without a second thought”,
“Wow that’s mean” Ella says,
“All done!” Nurse joy says holding a tray with Pikachu and 2 pokeballs on it,
The group walk up to Nurse joy and Pikachu jumps onto Ash’s shoulder as he grabs the 2 pokeballs, “Thanks Nurse Joy” Ash says, Brock jumps in front of Ash and gets on one knee holding Nurse joys hand, “Yes…thank you Nurse Joy, thank you for stealing my heart” he says, a burst of light comes out of Brocks bag and out comes Moonky, Moonky comes up to Brock and jumps onto his face, Brock then falls to the ground, “ah…Moon…ky” he mumbles, Ella and Cole sigh.
Meanwhile Team Rocket arrive at the pokemon center where the group are, and they see Paul leaning against a tree, they duck behind another tree,
“Hey isn’t that the guy from the Sinnoh region?” James says,
“Yeah it is, I wonder what he’s doing here?” Jesse says,
Just then the group walk outside, “Look there’s the twerps” Meowth says,
“I think the main twerp is going to battle the purple headed twerp,” James says,
“Ooo lets watch” Meowth says.
Ash walks over to Paul, “I’m ready now” he says,
“Good” Paul says and the walk to the opposite sides of the battle field, “Lets battle” Paul shouts out,
Paul enlarges a pokeball and throws it “Tyrogue I choose you!” He says as the pokeball goes flying through the air and bursts open with a bright white light, and out comes Tyrogue,
“A Tyrogue aye,” Ash says “Then Mawclaw I choose you!” he says throwing out a pokeball and out comes Mawclaw, “Lets go!” Ash shouts, “Mawclaw Wing attack!” he says,
Mawclaw flies into the air and it’s wings start glowing,
“Tyrogue Focus Punch!” Paul shouts, Tyrogue jumps into the air and it’s fist starts glowing, Mawclaw swoops in to hit Tyrogue and Tyrogue hits Mawclaw both attacks hit at the same time,
Watching from behind a tree Team Rocket are watching the battle,
“So the twerps Paracaw evolved,” Jesse says,
“Yeah and that other twerp has a Tyrogue” Meowth says
Mawclaw and Tyrogue get back to the ground, both having taken damage,
“Tyrogue Brick Break!” Paul shouts, Tyrogue runs up to Mawclaw with both its fist glowing,
“Mawclaw use Mega Wing to block it!” Ash shouts, Mawclaw’s wings start glowing and grow bigger, Mawclaw puts its wings out to stop Tyrogue, Tyrogue hits Mawclaw’s wings, Mawclaw is too strong for it and hits Tyrogue with it’s Mega Wing attack, sending Tyrogue flying backwards to the ground, “Get up now!” Paul shouts at Tyrogue, Tyrogue struggles to get up,
“Mawclaw lets finish this, Aerial Ace!” Ash shouts out, Mawclaw flies into the air and swoops down at Tyrogue with speed and force striking Tyrogue knocking it out of the battle, “Tyrogue return!” Paul says holding out a pokeball, Tyrogue returns into the pokeball, Paul just looks at the ball and puts it back into his pocket without saying a word, “Tyrogue put up a good battle and he doesn’t even say it” Cole says with anger,
Paul pulls out another Pokeball and throws it, “Elecritter go!” Paul says as the ball spins around in the air and out comes a little brown pokemon with big blue and white ears and a big fluffy tail, “Elecritter?” Cole says pulling out his Pokedex,
“Elecritter, the Rat Pokemon, Elecritter can run at high speeds allowing it to absorb static electricity from the friction of running”
“Ash Elecritter is an Electric type,” Ella shouts out to him,
“No problem” Ash says, “Mawclaw use Wing attack!” Ash shouts out, Mawclaw flies back into the air and swoops down at Elecritter with it’s glowing wings,
“Elecritter…Thunder Shock” Paul says, Elecritter looks at Mawclaw and starts charging up, Elecritter lets out a big bolt of blue lightning at Mawclaw striking it directly, “MAWCLAW!” Ash shouts as Mawclaw gets zapped, Elecritter stops the attack and Mawclaw falls to the ground fainted, “Mawclaw no!” Ash says, Ash returns Mawclaw to its pokeball, “You did such a good job there Mawclaw, you deserve a good rest” he says tucking the pokeball away on his belt,
“Lets fight fire with fire” Ash says, “Pikachu are you ready!” he says looking at Pikachu who is sitting with Ella, Brock and Cole on a bench, Pikachu runs up to Ash and stands beside him,
“Lets go Pikachu, Iron Tail!” Ash says, Pikachu runs up to Elecritter with its glowing tail and swings at Elecritter, “Elecritter, you use Iron tail” Paul says, Elecritter swings it’s glowing tail at Pikachu’s and the two struggle with their tails, “Come on Elecritter” Paul shouts at Elecritter, as the two keep struggling, “Pikachu you can do it!” Ash shouts out, Pikachu looks at Elecritter with a bit of sweat dripping down it’s face, Pikachu’s tail glows even more and it pushes Elecritter even harder until Elecritter can’t take it any longer and it is sent flying across the ground, “Elecritter!” Paul shouts at it, Elecritter gets back up, “Good” Paul says,
“That was great Pikachu!” Ash says to Pikachu, “Now lets try a Quick attack!” Ash says, Pikachu races up in a bolt of light and charges at Elecritter, “Elecritter dodge it and use Fury Swipes!” Paul shouts, Elecritter dodges the attack and starts’ scratching at Pikachu and Pikachu takes the hit, “Pikachu!” Ash shouts out, “Pikachu Iron Tail again!” he says, Pikachu’s tail starts glowing again and it hits Elecritter sending flying across the ground again, this time it was a critical hit and it knocks Elecritter out, “Elecritter…your useless” Paul says, as he returns it to it’s Pokeball, Ash picks up Pikachu who is exhausted from it’s battle, “You can take a rest Pikachu, you were great he says” Pikachu smiles, “Hey Paul, Elecritter is a good fighter” Ash says,
“No, its weak” he says and Ash gets mad, “Now our next Pokemon” Paul says, “fine” Ash says,
“Wow that Paul guy isn’t very nice to his Pokemon” Ella says, “Yeah, he isn’t” Brock says,
Pokeball, Paul returns Elecritter to it’s pokeball, not saying a word, Ash walks up to Paul, “That was a good battle Paul” Ash says to him, “Yeah, Whatever” he says back “Next time I will beat you Ash” he says walking away, Brock, Ella and Cole walk up to Ash, “That was a great battle Ash” Ella says, “It would have been a lot better if Paul was nicer to his Pokemon though” Cole says, “That’s Paul” Ash says.
The sun is setting and the group make their way to the Pokemon center to relax before setting out to battle the Crestlight City Gym leader.

“No problem” Ash says, “Mawclaw use Wing attack!” Ash shouts out, Mawclaw flies back into the air and swoops down at Elecritter with it’s glowing wings,
“Elecritter…Thunder Shock” Paul says, Elecritter looks at Mawclaw and starts charging up, Elecritter lets out a big bolt of blue lightning at Mawclaw striking it directly, “MAWCLAW!” Ash shouts as Mawclaw gets zapped, Elecritter stops the attack and Mawclaw falls to the ground fainted, “Mawclaw no!” Ash says, Ash returns Mawclaw to its pokeball, “You did such a good job there Mawclaw, you deserve a good rest” he says tucking the pokeball away on his belt,
“Lets fight fire with fire” Ash says, “Pikachu are you ready!” he says looking at Pikachu who is sitting with Ella, Brock and Cole on a bench, Pikachu runs up to Ash and stands beside him,
“Lets go Pikachu, Iron Tail!” Ash says, Pikachu runs up to Elecritter with its glowing tail and swings at Elecritter, “Elecritter, you use Iron tail” Paul says, Elecritter swings it’s glowing tail at Pikachu’s and the two struggle with their tails, “Come on Elecritter” Paul shouts at Elecritter, as the two keep struggling, “Pikachu you can do it!” Ash shouts out, Pikachu looks at Elecritter with a bit of sweat dripping down it’s face, Pikachu’s tail glows even more and it pushes Elecritter even harder until Elecritter can’t take it any longer and it is sent flying across the ground, “Elecritter!” Paul shouts at it, Elecritter gets back up, “Good” Paul says,
“That was great Pikachu!” Ash says to Pikachu, “Now lets try a Quick attack!” Ash says, Pikachu races up in a bolt of light and charges at Elecritter, “Elecritter dodge it and use Fury Swipes!” Paul shouts, Elecritter dodges the attack and starts’ scratching at Pikachu and Pikachu takes the hit, “Pikachu!” Ash shouts out, “Pikachu Iron Tail again!” he says, Pikachu’s tail starts glowing again and it hits Elecritter sending flying across the ground again, this time it was a critical hit and it knocks Elecritter out, “Elecritter…your useless” Paul says, as he returns it to it’s Pokeball, Ash picks up Pikachu who is exhausted from it’s battle, “You can take a rest Pikachu, you were great he says” Pikachu smiles, “Hey Paul, Elecritter is a good fighter” Ash says,
“No, its weak” he says and Ash gets mad, “Now our next Pokemon” Paul says, “fine” Ash says,
“Wow that Paul guy isn’t very nice to his Pokemon” Ella says, “Yeah, he isn’t” Brock says,
Pokeball, Paul returns Elecritter to it’s pokeball, not saying a word, Ash walks up to Paul, “That was a good battle Paul” Ash says to him, “Yeah, Whatever” he says back “Next time I will beat you Ash” he says walking away, Brock, Ella and Cole walk up to Ash, “That was a great battle Ash” Ella says, “It would have been a lot better if Paul was nicer to his Pokemon though” Cole says, “That’s Paul” Ash says.
The sun is setting and the group make their way to the Pokemon center to relax before setting out to battle the Crestlight City Gym leader.
